Term 2 Week 17

We had a great last week of Term 2.

We had show and tell this week. The children are getting better a asking questions and talking about what they want to share.

We had our mall again. This time we had a toy store to go along with our restaurant and ice cream shop.

We mad special paintings as holiday presents for our families.

We worked together to make giant gingerbread people, using Ms. Maki and Ms. Darby as templates.

There was a little bit of snow left at the park!

And Friday was our Winter Party!

We had center time, where we made holiday cards, played with play-doh, and worked together to build a city.

And it's just not a party without fancy clothes and a treat.

Pre-K won the at home reading challenge again! Way to go Pre-K! Reading regularly to your child is the best way to set them up for success in reading and school later, especially if you pick stories that they truly enjoy.

Our individual winner this term was Pranitha. Way to go Pranitha! I picked a Frog and Toad book, which are great read-aloud books that will also be good for reading practice in a few years.

We have sent home spare clothes and shoes. Please wash and check the size of both. Please send spare clothes back on January 5th in a cloth drawstring bag. Please write your child's name on the bag, as well as on each piece of clothing and both shoes. While Pre-K children are better at keeping track of their things than younger children, things do get mixed up and many children have the same items. Please also check that your child's name is on snack and lunch bags.

We hope you have a great winter break! Term 3 starts on Tuesday January 5th. See you then!
