Term 1 Week 14

We started the last week of the term with a great surprise. On Monday, our caterpillar had become a butterfly. We let it go first thing and watched it fly around the school for a while before it flew away.

On Monday the children painted coffee filter flowers using a salad spinner. They chose 2 or 3 colors, poured some in, sprayed them with some water, and then spun the spinner. On Wednesday and Thursday they added stems and leaves to complete the flower.

On Tuesday we did some Super Simple Draw. We followed the videos for how to draw a monkey and how to draw a unicorn. We will do these videos throughout the year to help the students develop more fine motor control, and just enjoy drawing.

On Wednesday it was finally not raining, but the children decided they wanted to play in the gym.

We are sending home spare clothes and inside shoes. Please wash them and check for size. Please send the spare clothes back in a drawstring bag with your child's name on them the first day they return, either for summer school or regular school.

We had to say goodbye to Thao this week. We will miss your smile! Best of luck in your new adventure.

Have a great summer! We will see you for summer school or term 2. Stay safe and healthy!
Ms. Darby and Ms. Maki
