Term 1 Week 13

Such a rainy, rainy week! We were not able to go to the park this week, because even when it wasn't raining, the playground was too wet. We spent lots of time in the playroom, and some time in the gym on Friday for PE.

For center time this week we did a process art project over a few days. The children first drew on paper with crayon, and then painted over the crayon and sprinkled on salt. Their art will be on display in the classroom. We also worked on patterns, Miniluk, magnet letters
We also worked on our habitats on Monday. And explored habitats by trying to place animals in the correct place, as a group activity and then as a teacher-led center.

We're keeping an eye on our chrysalis and learning about the life cycle of butterflies.

We have been working on sight words. Though we do not expect everyone to be able to read by the time they leave Pre-K, we want to help those who are ready to begin reading.
We will fill this word wall with more sight words as the year goes on.

Next week is the last week of the term. We will be sending home spare clothes and inside shoes. Please check everything for fit, and wash their inside shoes. We will be sending home inside shoes every month (more if needed) to be washed to help maintain the cleanliness of our classroom. Please get a cloth shoe bag for your child, and send it at the beginning of term 2.

Thank you! See you next week!
Ms. Darby and Ms. Maki
