Hello Pre-K! A busy week in Pre-K like usual.
We are working on number sense using ten-frames. This week I challenged them to fill in ten-frames to show our number of the week, 29.
Center time included drawing self-portraits, lego people ten-frames, shape sorting, human growth sequencing, Uno, letter writing practice, reviewing their portfolios, and beginning their daruma craft for Japanese Culture Day next Friday.
We had a mix of playroom and the school playground. Many of the children are very focused on either practicing the monkey bars or playing soccer, so they have preferred the school playground to the park across the street.
Thank you for sending in all the baby pictures! We had a lot of fun guessing the baby, and matching parents with their child.
Next Friday the 29th is our Japanese Culture Day. Please send your child in a happi, yukata, jinbei, or Japanese inspired costume (including ninja, samurai, or anime characters- no weapons please!). Please make sure whatever your child is wearing that they can go to the toilet by themselves in their outfit. We will be playing in the playroom rather than going to the park.
Have a great weekend! See you Monday!
Ms. Darby and Ms. Maki
